This is a reminder for those who own police uniforms that there is a registration scheme which they can sign up to.
It is an offence to impersonate a police officer and anyone found doing so can be fined. People who own and use police uniform for filming risk being stopped and detained by police. If you are part of the UK Film and TV Registration Scheme, you can present your card, if stopped to prevent this from happening. Whilst there is no legal obligation to be part of the scheme it is recommended that you join if you own, travel with and use a police uniform regularly for filming. If you do have your own police uniform you should not travel to set with it on.
